Narrative Intro So, what is blood pressure? We all have it.  It's an important vital sign and an indication of how your blood is moving through your body. Blood pressure measures the force exerted on the walls of blood vessels as your arteries deliver the blood away from your heart.

Verse 1 (Pitch for Testing and Physical Checkup)
Saving your own life – You can do it  - You need to know your numbers – So take a moment
Blood pressure’s serious – Don’t be in denial  - A physical checkup – Can save your life

Narrative Turn 1 (Nickname for Hypertensiion, Symptom, Consequence of Hypertension)
Listen hypertension is often called the silent killer You may experience headaches, dizziness, blurred vision or nausea, but most people who have it don't know it until their blood pressure is measured. If left untreated it can cause, kidney failure heart attack, or stroke

Chorus (Another Call for Testing)
Watch Out - Get your test now - Take the first step - so that there' no doubt
Hey!  Look out – You can be surprised -  You may miss the symptoms – I hope you recognize

Verse 2  (Simple/Partial Definition of Vascular System)
If you're healthy, your arteries and veins are very elastic they expand and contract  You need your vascular system to carry blood from your heart to your lungs to your heart to every cell of your body to your liver and back

Narrative Turn 2
Your blood pressure can change from minute to minute but for adults it should normally be less than 120/80.  The higher number is called (systolic).  It measures the pressure when the heart is beating.  The lower number is called (diastolic) and it represents the pressure when the heart is resting between beats
Chorus

Breakdown
If your blood pressure is above 140 systolic, and over 90 diastolic, you may have high blood pressure which is called (hypertension).  Primary hypertension is sometimes called the “silent killer because it can creep up on you.  You can have it for years without even knowing it.  The bottom line is that high blood pressure makes your heart pump harder, and puts extra pressure on the overall vascular system.   That's not good, and if left untreated, it can lead to increased risk of kidney problems, stroke or even heart failure.
Chorus (Vamp Out)
