Fiancé: Ha, Ha, Boy you don't just have diabetes; you must be losing your mind.
If you think I'm gonna leave you – Not for a man, not for a job, not for this disease
Background: You, you, you you - You'll never know - You You You– You'll never know a day - without my love
You you - You'll never know
Lead: Since the day when we first met - You flashed a smile that I can't forget
There's was something in your eyes, it felt so right, it was magical
Lead: Our love has grown to be true Every day of my life I want to spend with you
The time that we share is so much fun, I'll never leave - You're my number one
Verse 2 – The Symptoms
Lead: There were many symptoms in front of me, I'm eight years a nurse and boy you know I see
I notice your weight up and down, you were very thirsty baby - and you wanted food all the time
Lead: Blurry for you to see, the frequent bathroom breaks - You were starting to get moody and fatigue
But you'll always have me – I will be there - until eternity
Background: You, you, you you - You'll never know - You You You–
Lead: You'll never know a day, a hour, a minute, a second without my love
Background: You, you, you, you - You, you, you - You, you - You
Fiancé: We're going to get through this. - Unfortunately you missed the prevention boat
So now boy it's time to get on the treatment train - And we are going to ride it together, you and me
We've got to change our diets. We've got to do more exercise
You and me together right? Don't worry baby I'll be beside you
You, you, you you - You'll never know - You You You–
You'll never know a day, a hour, a minute, a second without my love
Background: You, you, you, you - You, you, you - You, you - You
Fiancé: You got to take your medicine and if you ever ever forget
I'll be right there, I will remind you
Ad Lib Outro
Background: You, you, you, you - You, you, you - You, you - You
Fiancé: When's your next doctor's appointment, Can I go with you, can we go together?
So you can't go through life as carefree

Guy: Thank you baby.
Fiancé: I love you, I'll always love you

You Should Know (A Diabetes Love Story)
You Should Know Flash Lyrics Page
You Should Know is a love story about a young man, who just discovered that he has diabetes and his relationship with his fiancé. In the song, he tells her about his fate. The specific situation represented in the song is a dramatic and realistic expression of love. More importantly, it provides a credential to talk about diabetes. The second song on the project is called, "You'll Never Know." This song is the fiancé's (a nurse) reply. The song is also an upbeat R&B listing of diabetes symptoms. In "You'll Never Know (a day without my love)," the fiancé proclaims her commitment and return love. She lets him know, in song, that she recognized the symptoms early. The program also includes a song about their visit to the doctor (treatment options) and, other songs about topics such as diet management, physical exercise, hyperglycemia, hypoglycemia, medication, and checking blood sugar. The music CD project concludes with a moving love ballad describing their wedding, and a powerful rhythmic track called, "Empowered" which is a positive presentation of living with diabetes.
