Intro Verse:
When it comes to weight management, a lot of people try diets. There's the low-carb diet, the high-carb diet, the low-fat diet. There's even a cabbage soup diet. But if you really want to lose weight or maintain your weight, you have to monitor the calories you intake. But check it. It's not always all about what you eat. That's right; the time has come for you to Rethink Your Drink

Rap Verse 1a:
We’re like family – Yep - Me and You
And the times we hang together are oh so cool
My "home-ie" – my "Road-ie"  (slang)
from around the way
I’m watching you drink six of soda a day
Yeah the flavor is sweet and oh so yummy
But can't you see the plump
around your tummy
Turn:
Reduce sweetened beverage consumption Check the calories in super size portions

Rap Verse 1b:

You can drink up to 64 ounces
And that's a lot of flavor
but you need to start counting

Fluid plus calories - a danger combination
So limit the sugar with your hydration

Sing Verse 1:

The beverage that you choose
can be very good for you - Or it can be NOT

Turn:  Watch out for the added sugar

Our bodies need daily quenching and when you're thirsty - Nothing can beat water to hit the spot

Chorus:

I’m telling you it’s time Rethink your Drink

You have do it for a healthy body
Control your weight by reducing calories

Don’t you know that water is sugar free

For nutrients your low-fat milk is cool

or a cup of 100 percent fruit juice
Morning, evening or noon
YOU HAVE TO KNOW
THE LIQUID CALORIES THAT YOU CONSUME

Rap Verse 2a:
The main reason what you drink is important
Is the water that it brings is a critical nutrient
Over eighty percent of your blood
55 to 75 percent of your body

Water is involved in
nearly every body function
On average you need about eight cups
for hydration

But how you get it is the main issue
Straight or laced with things that can hurt you

Keep the nutrients high
and the calories light
Whether you’re eating or drinking
That will help make your body tight

So Read the Facts label
for the vitamins and nutrients

And be on the lookout for harmful ingredients

Sing Verse 2a:

Some people don't realize there could be more than one serving inside
You have to take the time to multiply - to accurately know what you're pouring inside
A label can show you the calories per serving  - but only if you take the time to read
Before you drink – Ask yourself is this good for me?
Does it have Vitamin
A, B, C, D or E
or the Calcium I need - Always remember - It's not healthy to drink empty calories

 Breakdown Verse:
Many people don't realize just how many calories they drink each day. If you’re drinking the recommended three glasses of low fat milk - And an eight ounce glass of 100% fruit juice, well that’s about 500 calories right there. Unfortunately many people consume another - 300 to six hundred empty calories a day drinking soda, flavored coffee, smoothies, energy drinks, milk shakes and other high-calorie drinks.  If you’re drinking over a thousand calories per day you may gain weight In fact drinking more water and other low calorie beverages may be an easy way to decrease your overall caloric intake which in turn will help you maintain and even reduce your weight..  That’s why you should Rethink Your Drink
